Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. When she was five, she relocated from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma was aware she would like to be an actor and for a number of years she trained at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theater school, where she learned performing and singing. From the age of 10 she was involved and performed the main role in numerous Stagecoach Productions and School Plays. In 1999 casting began for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theatre instructor. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been picked for these characters. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut on screen came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in the year 2001. It broke all records in terms of opening day and weekend revenues, and was the most-recorded 2001 movie. Critics gave high praise to the film and particularly the younger actors. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Then Emma was shortlisted for five awards for her role in the film and was awarded the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress of a Younger in a feature Film.
